A tradutora, escritora, pesquisadora e curadora inglesa, Sabrina Gledhill foi criada em Porto Rico e passou 28 anos no Brasil, onde fez doutorado em Estudos Étnicos e Africanos na UFBA. Autora do livro Travessias no Atlântico Negro: Reflexões sobre Booker T. Washington e Manuel R. Querino (2018), já traduziu mais de 30 livros para sua língua materna, inclusive A morte é uma festa e Domingos Sodré, um sacerdote africano, ambos da autoria de João José Reis. Como curadora, é co-organizadora e -autora do livro Axé Bahia: The Power of Art in an Afro-Brazilian Metropolis (2018), o catálogo da exposição epônima, realizada no Museu Fowler da UCLA, na Califórnia. Agora novamente radicada na Inglaterra desde 2014, está dando prosseguimento aos seus trabalhos de tradução, pesquisa, curadoria e à produção de seus próprios trabalhos.
